Get Walthamstow dogs back on track – Tonight’s Evening Standard

A call for the return of dog racing to Walthamstow stadium is being backed by a Cabinet minister.

Iain Duncan Smith wants Mayor Boris Johnson to intervene after a study that claimed a major housing scheme planned for the site could cost taxpayers £26 million.

“The public do not want a lot of housing there, they want their dog track back,” said Mr Duncan Smith, the MP for Chingford.
