STOW-FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST‏

SAVEOURSTOW has today made a request to Waltham Forest Council under the Freedom of Information Act. The questions asked are detailed below.

This request has been made because L&Q has advised us that they were given encouragement by the council to purchase Walthamstow Stadium and we feel that their planning application cannot be independently dealt with if this allegation is proven to be correct.

L&Q has been branded liars by Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith and we are fully aware of the lengths that they will go to in order to have their unpopular plans passed.

QUESTIONS ASKED OF WALTHAM FOREST COUNCIL

1.      Please produce copies of all communications (letters, e mails, facsimiles, notes of telephone conversations, meeting minutes and notes, etc) between or involving Councillors Robbins, Loakes, Pye or Wheeler and any employee, director or representative of London & Quadrant Housing Association relating to Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium.

2.      Please produce copies of all internal communications (letters, e mails, facsimiles, notes of telephone conversations, meeting minutes and notes, etc) between or involving Councillors Robbins, Loakes, Pye or Wheeler and council officers within the planning, housing, business development or regeneration departments relating to Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium.

3.      Please produce copies of all communications (letters, e mails, facsimiles, notes of telephone conversations, meeting minutes and notes, etc) between or involving Councillors Robbins, Loakes, Pye or Wheeler and any other interested parties (excluding ‘general public’ communications) relating to Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium. This is to include any communications with the previous owners of Walthamstow Stadium and any prospective investors/purchasers.

4.      L&Q’s submission to the Preferred Options Core Strategy includes the statement ‘The Borough kindly provided us in confidence a list of the sites expected to contribute to the 10,595 housing capacity figure mentioned in paragraph 5.9 of the Preferred Options Core Strategy’Please provide a copy of the communication from the Council to L&Q including any covering e mail or letter etc.

Very good. What so many ‘authorities’ fail to realise is that the legislation they hide behind can be used to expose them. It’s our duty to use the tools provided to good effect.

  2. DaftAida says:

The Accounts and Audits Regulations (2003) via the Audit office will provide dates on which a member of the public can access a council’s accounts which may also be of interest.
