NEWS FLASH – L&Q FINALLY SUBMIT PLANNING APPLICATION

We have been advised that L&Q have after 2.5 years finally submitted their planning application for the ‘Stow’ into the council. We call on all SOS supporters to keep an eye on our website for important updates when they become available.

We would also call on everyone to come and support Stella Creasy (MP) as she debates the future heritage policy of Walthamstow Stadium in Westminster Hall at 11am tomorrow morning. Supporters are requested to meet at the entrance gates to Westminster tomorrow at 10.30am, as BBC & ITV will be covering tomorrows events.

    What you /we call authority in a democracy social are servants of the community not their masters. It is the People who have the authority and are the authority, for it is only through them that you get the powers you do.

    They not adhering to the rules under Customer Involvement/Empowerment/Participation

    A DEMOCRACY is a society in which all adults have easily accessible, meaningful, and effective ways:
    to participate in the decision-making processes of every organization that makes decisions or takes actions that affect them, and;
    to hold other individuals, and those in these organizations who are responsible for making decisions and taking actions, fully accountable if their decisions or actions violate fundamental human rights, or are dishonest, unethical, unfair, secretive, inefficient, unrepresentative, unresponsive or irresponsible.

    Where is the Register of Interests of the Group known has the “Neighbourhood Committee” do you know whom your Chair ? are you sitting on your Neighbourhood Committee and can tell me. Or is it only for Group Board, MP’s and Councillors of the group known has L & Q Housing Trust

  8. brian smith says:

    Boris Johnson has no objection to the loss of greyhound racing in his latest report. What do you guys think about that!

  9. Junior says:

    Boris Johnson has said he would welcome a move to re-open Walthamstow Stadium as a dog-racing venue.

    The dog track, in east London, closed in 2008 and was bought by London & Quadrant, which has since submitted plans to Waltham Forest Council for a 294-home housing development.

    Campaign group Save Our Stow, which is backing an alternative proposal by millionaire Bob Morton to re-introduce dog racing to the site, has repeatedly claimed L&Q’s plans are not viable. The group has cited a letter from a council officer saying L&Q’s viability assessment indicates the scheme cannot afford to provide section 106 contributions.

    Mr Johnson, in a letter to SOS, said: ‘I am aware of the criticism of the costs of the scheme and have asked Waltham Forest to share the viability assessment of the scheme.’

    He added: ‘I understand local residents’ concerns and their desire to see dog racing on this site, and I would welcome a user who was able to facilitate this.’ Mr Johnson said answers to the consultation and the viability concerns would be ‘major issues’ in his determination of the application when it is referred to him.

    A spokesperson for L&Q said its proposal for the site will provide section 106 contributions. ‘We are currently working through the details on this as part of the normal negotiations with the planning authority, ‘ he said.

    L&Q’s plans are due to come before Waltham Forest Council’s planning committee on May 8.
