Waltham Forest Guardian newspaper is taking a photo on Wednesday, December 17, at 11:30am, at the front of the Walthamstow dog stadium in Chingford Road.

The photo is to accompany a story about residents who are concerned about the three Christmas celebrations being held in a large marquee at the dog track over the festive period by the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC).

Concerns have been raised about parking, litter, and noise from the event.

If you are opposed to the event being held there over Christmas and on New Year’s Eve, please come along for the group photo being taken with other residents in neighbouring roads to the track.

After reading all the latest reports about the KICC being able to set up at our beloved stow and hold an event without planning permission or even consultation with the the local council, We have to ask ourselves why? how come these people are being permitted to even enter the place? let alone set up a huge marquee and in doing so destroying the surviving parts of the stow’s track, When we approached the security guards a couple of months ago and asked if we could take some pictures we were met with growling guard dogs and a hostile response from the guards, We have nothing against the KICC church but it all seems a bit dodgy from our point of view, The new years eve event which KICC is staging at the stow is being promoted on local radio stations and cable channels as an “ALL NIGHT EVENT” , I wonder, If Rock-itRadio turned religious and decided to hold a special “BETTING ON THE DOGS EVENING EVENT” at the stow, Would the local authorities be powerless to do anything about it? We think not! Were sure they’d pull out all the stops (whether it be on health and safety issues or public dissorder issues) to prevent us from pulling off such an event, Even though thats what the stadium was designed and built for and had been doing for the past 75 years! Were also wondering what L & Qs part in all this is. Are they aware of whats taking place at the stow?
